How we rate deals
Every Priclo deal label is calculated automatically from the price history we record. We don't use the retailer's "was" price, and nobody can pay to change a rating.
Launching in stages: we're building price histories now. These are the rules every rating on Priclo follows as live comparisons roll out.
Where our prices come from
We collect prices from UK retailers' product feeds, which we refresh several times a day. Each time a price changes, we record it. Over time this builds a price history for every product we track.
We match the same product across retailers using its barcode (EAN/GTIN) and manufacturer part number, so different sizes, colours or storage options are never mixed together.
We compare total prices
We rank retailers by the price you'd actually pay: the product price plus standard delivery. A cheaper headline price with expensive delivery won't be shown as the best offer.
What each label means
We compare today's lowest delivered price with the product's time-weighted 90-day average (the price it has actually sat at, weighted by how long it stayed there) and its lowest recorded price.
At or below the lowest price we've ever recorded, and at least 20% below the 90-day average.
At least 15% below the 90-day average, or the lowest price in 90 days.
Between 5% and 15% below the 90-day average.
Within 5% of the 90-day average, above or below.
More than 5% above the 90-day average, or it's been at least 10% cheaper on two or more occasions in the last 90 days.
We've tracked the product for less than 14 days, so we don't have enough history to rate it fairly yet.
Checks before a deal is featured
- The product must be in stock at the retailer offering the price.
- Unusually large overnight price changes are held back until we can confirm they're not a data error.
- Only Exceptional and Great prices appear in Today's Deals.
Independence
We earn a commission from some retailers when you buy through our links. That never affects the label a product receives, the order retailers appear in, or whether a product is shown. If we ever show sponsored placements, they will be clearly marked "Sponsored" and will not change any rating. Read our affiliate disclosure.
Limitations
Prices can change between our checks, so always confirm the final price on the retailer's website before you buy. Member-only prices, trade-in offers and discount codes aren't included unless stated.
